We gotta get out more!

L and delicious deep fried picklesGood grief, this is turning into a recipe site! But still about food… and that’s the point. So on that note, on we go to … PICKLES! One of the latest attempts being the deep fried persuasion. I picked a recipe at random and went to town. I ended up double dipping them before cooking (it’s okay! it’s not THAT double dipping!) which meant dip and dry mix and dip and dry mix again to try to get a thicker coating on the pickles. I also just used jars of Bicks good old quarter dills. I think I might like some toasted bread crumbs added to the dry mix and maybe some extra black pepper in there too, but turned out pretty well. They were eaten quickly and enthusiastically by a variety of guests, so I guess that’s the best barometer. Try them yourself… especially since they charge way too much for them in a restaurant! K&L 😀

  1. see the smile on my face in that picture? – lets be honest – I ate most of them…..bar none – the best deep fried pickles I’ve had – and I very much like them as an appetizer in restaurants….but these ones were extra good – much more dill flavour to the pickles -and the coating was very crispy and flavourful…… and I was fortunate enough to get them hot out of the fryer just when they’re perfect……nice work K
